ERUDITE FTC

Team #13223

About Us

Erudite is a nine-member team consisting of sophomores from Santa Clara High School who are aiming to build and design a competitive robot that will help reach regionals and beyond. With the support and sponsorships from the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute, the Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF), and Cpacket Networks, Erudite was able to hold many successful events and outreach programs last year. From these sponsors, teachers, and advisors Erudite developed a keen sense of curiosity to try and learn from various failures to create a successful product in the end. Our rookie season ended with the chance to compete in the final round as alliance captains as well as winning the Motivate award during our qualifying competition. We are very grateful for all the sponsors and teachers who helped us along the way and mostly proud of all the time and hard work that each team member dedicated to Erudite.

Team Introduction

Mission Statement

Our team’s goal is to learn and increase our knowledge in various aspects of First Tech Challenge and robotics. We want to be able to use the skills we learnt last year to have a more competitive and impactful season. More than working on one part of the robot, we want all our team members to experience and learn about all the areas of the robot such as software and hardware.  Alongside working on our technical skills, we want to have a larger reach in the community with our outreach portions. We want to share with all different ages what STEM and robotics is, and how it has an impact on one’s everyday life.

Our Impact

FTC Team Erudite is working to make a benefit to those surrounding us. We host many stem workshops to share knowledge and bring interest to STEM to younger students in our community. Our workshops encourage students to think outside of the box, use a creative mindset, and apply STEM concepts. Erudite spreads awareness of FIRST to our community to help people get more involved in robotics. Alongside benefiting the community around us, Erudite has brought the most benefit to the members of our team. We have all gotten the opportunity to work hands on the robot whether it's with the hardware building aspects or the software coding aspects. Performing outreach for Erudite has helped us all become stronger leaders and has taught us important life skills like how to reach out, collaboration with team mates, organization, public speaking, and more. Erudite has been a great opportunity that has positively impacted our team members and the community that supports it.
